Guardian Angel in Christianity - an angel, a good spirit given to man by God at baptism for help and guidance .

According to Orthodox and Catholic views, invisible guardian angel is with man throughout his life, if a person keeps his love for God and the true faith before Him. The task of the guardian angel - thereby saving the ward. In particular, the guardian angels spiritually edify Christians in faith and piety , protect their body and soul, intercede for them during their earthly life, pray to God for them , do not leave them , finally , after the death of the soul is withdrawn and graduated from earthly life into eternity .

Catholic and Orthodox churches teach to read and encourage prayers guardian angels as the next spiritual mentors and patrons.

According to the teachings of the Orthodox Church , the personal name of a particular guardian angel can not know a person , as an angel of God given to man and is invisible to humans. Therefore, for each guardian angel is not assigned to a particular day public his memories , and set special days of celebration of all the heavenly powers , when reminded of all angelic powers . Such a common day of remembrance for all the angels is 8 ( according to the Julian calendar) / 21 (Gregorian ) in November - the Cathedral of Archangel Michael and all the Bodiless Powers . It should be noted that the birthday or name day , despite its name , is not a day of celebration of a guardian angel , and is a day of remembrance of the saint, whose name is ( baptized ) people.
